The project which costs about RM4 million, in collaboration with French and local engineers, has installed 80 LED lights for the tower shaft, 160 lights for the tower head and 12 lights for the antenna mast.

KL Tower have also prepared and programmed 10 songs to be played during the lighting event, where each song will have a specific colour and lighting effect combinations. The new tower lights can be seen as far as 10 km away while the lights at the tower head can be seen from Genting Highland.
