KUALA TERENGGANU, May 15 (Bernama) -- The Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Week to be organised by SME Corp from June 4 to 6 in Dungun is to focus on young entrepreneurs who have had the benefit of guidance from several agencies.

Terengganu SME Corp director Muhammad Ibrahim said on Friday the programme was in line with the desire of the government to raise to 10 per cent the participation of youths in entrepreneurship.

This target is outlined under the 'Breakout Strategy' for micro enterprises by the National SME Development Council.

He said more than 100 young entrepreneurs from Terengganu who offered their own products and services would gather at the event at the Arena Square in Dungun.

The event was being held in collaboration with the Terengganu government, Entrepreneur Development Foundation, Mara and Companies Commission of Malaysia, he told Bernama.

Muhammad said various activities would be held throughout the SME Week, among them participation of entrepreneurs with the community.

"The people are encouraged to attend the SME Week to widen their network of business and benefit from the services offered by the young entrepreneurs in various fields of business.

"Youths who want to learn more about entrepreneurship guidance and support offered by government departments and agencies are also invited to attend the SME Week," he said.

Muhammad said Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman was expected to launch the SME Week on June 4.
