KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 (Bernama) -- Top seed Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark cruised to the second round of the BMW Malaysia Open 2015 after overcoming Wang Yafan of China here today.

Danish Wozniacki easily beat Wang 6-3 and 6-1 in the women's singles first round match at the Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC).

The world no five will next meet China's Zhu Lin who had beaten qualifier Yuliya Beygelzimer of Ukraine 6-4, 4-6 and 6-3 in the first round.

"I have never played Zhu Lin before this. I just hope I can do my best to win the next match in the second round. The weather here is pretty hot and humid.

"I have to drink lots of water to make sure I have energy to beat my opponents. This is my first time win in Malaysia because before this I lost in the first round," Wozniacki told the reporters after the match.

Wozniacki has won four singles titles in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Circuit, 22 singles titles and two doubles titles in in Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tour.

In other matches, 2012 BMW M'sian Open champion, Hsieh Su-Wei of Taipei breezed into second round after beating third seed player, Casey Dellacqua of Australia 7-5, 2-6 and 6-3.

Hsieh will meet Misa Eguchi next. The Japanese defeated An-Sophie Mestach of Belgium 2-6, 7-5 and 6-3.

Earlier, the Malaysian challenge came to an end at the tournament after Malaysian wildcard pair, Jawairiah Noordin and Theiviya Selvarajoo lost to Xinyun Han of China and Junri Namigata of Japan 6-2 and 6-0.

Jawairiah and Theiviya started off well against their more experienced opponents but Namigata and Han were able to capitalise on the Malaysian pair's inexperience as they took the first set.

"I felt we did fine in our first outing as a doubles pair. It was a good experience for both of us and we did try our best against higher ranked opponents who have played together as a pair longer than we have.

"We need more playing time together and we shall practice more and train harder to improve ourselves as a doubles pair," Theiviya said.
