KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysia's favourite heartthrob, with a voice and persona that melt the hearts of many, Anuar Zain, made an appearance at the preview of Tiga Dekad Muzik, Cinta dan Sanubari Live In Concert's CD and DVD Monday.

The crooner sauntered inside the cinema looking handsome as always, much to the delight to 50 of his fans, the winners of a contest held in conjunction with the preview.

The CD and DVD documented the Tiga Dekad Muzik, Cinta dan Sanubari Live In Concert which was held in February 2013 at Stadium Malawati in Shah Alam, to celebrate the singer's thirty years in the music industry. The concert was reportedly attended by 6,000 fans.

At the press conference after the screening, when asked about the scariest experience for him in his 30 years as a singer, Anuar said : "Singing is my passion, it is how I make a living. Around 2008, 2009, I wondered if I was still needed (by the industry) because things were very quiet back then.

There were no new opportunities for me. I wasn't sure where to go. Should I stop singing and do something else? I did try to do something else, which didn't work out. Things were bad, the economy was not stable and the industry was not doing well. But, Alhamdulillah, I held ground and kept the faith. That was a scary experience for me."

Happiness for him, said Anuar, is what he feels today and each time when he performs, when fans sing along to his songs. He feels happy when he makes other people (fans) happy. "I am lucky to have that feeling every time when I perform," he said.

Anuar said he wanted to have another mega concert. Plans are underway for another concert for the fans that have stuck with him through good and bad times.

On his next album, Anuar said : "We already have six songs and we need another two to complete the album. The five songs that we already have, are written by Malaysian composers and one by an Indonesian writer.

It has a more Malaysian, Malay feel (as opposed to his previous album), which I like. I really hope that my fans will be happy with the album."

To a question about invitations to be judges for reality programmes, Anuar commented "I want to do things that I'm comfortable with. I'm not choosy but I do things that make me happy. If it doesn't do that (makes him happy), then I will say no.

"I was invited so many times to be a mentor, a judge, an instructor for reality programmes, but I am comfortable just being a singer," he said.

Tiga Dekad Muzik, Cinta Dan Sanubari Live In Concert will be screened by TGV One Utama on Feb 15.
