Spring And Winter Gardens Main Attraction Of Royal FLORIA Putrajaya

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 27 (Bernama) -- The Spring and Winter Gardens are the main attraction of Royal FLORIA Putrajaya 2015 (FLORIA) which will be held from May 30 to June 7 at Anjung Floria, Presint 4, Putrajaya.

Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) president Tan Sri Aseh Che Mat said FLORIA, the largest flower and garden festival in this region, will feature the lily as its main theme.

"Themed Alunan Pancarona (Tapestry of Hues), the festival is managed by PPj wholly owned subsidiary company Putrajaya Floria Sdn Bhd (FSB)," he told a press conference, here Tuesday.

Aseh said it will see participation of over 50 flower designers and landscape architects from Australia, Cambodia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Oman, Singapore, Korea and New Zealand.

"It will showcase several new things such as the Spring and Winter Gardens which will simulate European gardens in spring and winter complete with falling snow.

"These two gardens will provide a new experience for visitors not only in terms of the weather and the temperature which will be controlled using technology, but also by the presence of roses and tulips."

FLORIA 2015 will feature over 400,000 trees of various species, cultivar flowers, ornamental plants and various activities during the nine-day festival.

PPj expects FLORIA to draw some million local and foreign visitors as it will be held during the school break.
