KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 21 (Bernama) -- The 'Doa Langit dan Bumi' concert, to be organised in order to raise funds for the recent flood victims, will be held on the afternoon of Feb 22 at Dewan Merdeka, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).

The concert featuring Datuk Ramli Sarip, Datuk M. Nasir, Datuk Hattan, Awie and Ella, aims at lifting the flood victims' spirits after the tragedy. The artistes will perform some of their best songs.

Datuk Ramli Sarip said the idea to have the concert came to him during his visit to Kuala Krai with AmBank's group chairman Tan Sri Azman Hashim to contribute aids to the flood victims.

"In shaa Allah (God willing) with the support of all quarters and caring Malaysians, we will be able to raise the funds to help the flood victims," he said at the media conference.

Present at the media conference Tuesday were Chief Executive Officer of PWTC, Datuk Maxson Abdullah and AmBank's Group Head, Corporate Communications and Marketing, Syed Anuar Syed Ali.

Datuk Ramli also said that he was touched with the support shown by his colleagues involved in the concert.

The AmBank Group and PWTC are the main sponsors of the concert.

"We are not going to have a 'sad' concert, because we don't have time to be sad. What's more important is for us to lift ourselves up and get together to help the flood victims.

"This is not the first, nor will it be the last concert of this kind because I hope that we can continue to help other causes through our works in the future," he told reporters.

The tickets are priced at RM153 each and sold at www.ilassotickets.com or Rock Corner, Victoria Music Station, Acoustic Music Station and PWTC or contact 03-7773-0677, 013-2633938.
