KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16 (Bernama) -- When talking about cream puffs many would imagine the softness of the pastry and the sweetness of its filling.

Cream puff or choux à la crème is a French dessert choux pastry. It is a type of light pastry ball filled with whipped cream, pastry cream, custard, or ice cream.

For this pastry’s lovers, they can head to Kee’s Creampuffs, for the outlet serves luscious cream puffs, cakes, and coffee to customers who are craving for some delicious treats.

This cozy and relaxing café, located at Jalan Telawi 5, Bangsar, is perfect for people to have their hi-teas with family and friends.

Background

When asked about the café’s background, Angie Ng, the Bangsar outlet’s Manager said “Kee, the mum of the family, started baking cream puffs as a hobby.

Through many trials and errors she created the original cream puff filling known as classic cream puff. Friends and relatives started requesting for the cream puffs that she made and it all took off from there”.

Together with both her children, and her sister Angie, Kee took the leap in faith and opened their first outlet in Subang.

Kee’s Creampuff expanded their menu in early 2013, having a total of fifteen cream puff variants and by late 2013, they opened their first branch in Bangsar.

What sets off Kee’s Creampuff with other cream puff sellers is the fact that the puffs served at their outlets are baked daily which means they do not use preservatives in their products.

Luscious Cream Puffs

Meanwhile, the filling’s varieties are made using a perfect blend between custard and fresh cream.

Customers are in for a pleasant surprise when biting into the cream puffs for they may find traces of small blueberry, strawberry, cookie chunk, or even durian pulp in the puffs.

Kee’s Creampuffs serves classic cream puffs, their original and best seller puffs, for only RM 1.60 each, meanwhile their premium cream puffs are priced at RM 1.80 each and savoury puffs for RM2.80 each. The signature puff for Kee’s Creampuffs is of the durian variety, which is only RM2.50 each.

Sharing the secret to Kee’s Creampuffs Angie said: “One of the secrets to the cream puffs is to make it not too thick nor too light, not too sweet nor tasteless, it’s just right”.

Besides these cream puffs, Kee’s Creampuffs also sells savoury puffs that are lightly toasted, served warm with a choice of enticing topping varieties.

Savoury Puffs

Customers can choose to have their savoury puffs with sour cream and chicken ham bits, mashed potatoes with beef strips, tuna with corn, and so many topping varieties.
