Preparations For LTdL 2015 Progressing Well - Malik Mydin

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- Preparations for the prestigious Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL), has picked up pace under a newly appointed race organiser, Human Voyage Sdn Bhd.

"We are in the half way stage of preparations for the biggest race in the region," said Human Voyage chief executive officer Datuk Malik Mydin when unveiling a logo and slogan for the LTdL at Yayasan Kepimpinan Perdana, here Thursday.

The ceremony was attended by former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed who is also the honorary patron of the LTdL 2015 and Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

According to Malik, the 20th edition of the LTdL with a slogan 'Moving Forward' would feature eight stages and would be flagged off in Langkawi on March 8 before ending in Kuala Lumpur on March 15, 2015.

He said the organisers were still in the process of identifying the route for the race but assured that there won't be too many changes in the previous route.

Malik said negotiations were going on with renowned professional teams to take part in the Hors status race sanctioned by the International Cycling Federation (UCI).

"In terms of participation, we are looking at 20 to 22 teams," he said.
