The organiser, Human Voyage said the race will be extended from 60km last year to 85km this year said Human Voyage chief executive officer Datuk Malik Mydin.

Malik said the route will however, remain the same as last year, that is around the Gunung Raya and surrounding paddy fields.

"The extension of the track is to provide a more challenging race, especially for international riders," he said adding that more than 2,000 local and foreign amateurs and professional riders would be taking part.

Speaking at a press conference in conjunction with the LIMBC, Malik said the championships would feature five categories - Men's Elite, Women's Elite, Men's Masters, Senior Masters and Men's Open for 'weekend warriors' and novice riders aged between 30 and 39.

The fifth edition, sponsored by Tradewind, offers prize money of US$150,000 (RM500,000) which is the highest prize money offered for mountain bike races in the world.
