Sheunik Lands Secure JV Deals For Indonesian Market At KL Converge!

KUALA LUMPUR -- KL Converge! 2014, organised by the Ministry of Communications & Multimedia (KKMM), was a major platform that took the attention of many local and international big players of the telecommunications, broadcasting and content at the KL Convention Centre from 17-19 September 2014.

In conjunction with this event, Creative Content Association of Malaysia (CCAM) together with Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia (FINAS) had organised the content component CONTENT MALAYSIA 2014 which was held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

During one of the occasion in the event, a Malaysian production company, Sheunik Lands Sdn Bhd had announced co-production deals with their Indonesian counterparts that was estimated to have a market value of more than RM 1.5 million.

The joint venture included the production of a feature film and six tele-films for Indonesian television broadcasters.

"There is a need to look beyond our borders. Time and again, local production companies have been successful in creating a bridge whereby collaboration with other companies from neighboring countries can generate revenue through sales of broadcasting and distribution rights," Datuk Mohd Mahyidin Mustakim, CEO of Creative Content Association of Malaysia.

"One need not to look far, because the countries in the Asean region offer immense opportunity for international collaboration and co-production," added Datuk Mohd Mahyidin.

Content Malaysia 2014 is a Business to Business (B2B) event specially designed for Malaysian Film & TV industry audio-visual and content creation professionals.
