KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 (Bernama) -- The content of the national creative industry appears to be more advanced and impressive, thanks to the use of the latest technology, and draws the attention of industry players from abroad, according to the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas).

Finas chairman Datuk Md Afendi Hamdan said this would lead to the export of more content of the local creative industry in the near future.

"For example, with the existence of Pinewood Studios in Johor, we can feel the positive impact on the industry when many Hollywood key players come to make their content there, and most require the assistance of local manpower," he said.

He spoke to Bernama today at KL Converge, the multi-platform creative industry conference and exhibition being held for three days at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre here.

It is organised by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and Finas.

Md Afendi said he hoped that the local creative industry players would take full advantage of all the programmes organised by KL Converge to learn new things for the betterment of the country's creative industry.

"We want to see more new ideas, new format contents and collaboration coming from our key players as it will also help to boost the country's economy," he said.
