Asian Largest BookFest Feeds Book Lovers Interest

Kuala Lumpur -- Popular Book Company has recently joined effort with Sin Chew Daily put together the 9th BookFest @ Malaysia which has turned out to be the largest book exposition in the Southeast Asia.

The event was officiated by the guest of honour of the event, Deputy Education Minister II P. Kamalanathan which was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).

The BookFest @ Malaysia 2014 took place from July 26 which lasted until August 3rd.

The reputation of this nine-day event has managed to attract more than half a million visitors which has also attracted foreign nationals of many countries. This year’s theme was known as 'Read On, Dream on'.

Senior Special Project Manager of Popular Book Co. (M) Sdn Bhd, Helen Goh shared the vision behind the theme and explained that the theme symbolizes the freedom to read without borders as it leads our imagination into new frontiers of uncharted adventures and worth exploring opportunities.

"The BookFest will continue its mission to cultivate the reading habit among Malaysians and wish that they will adopt reading and books as a lifestyle", she added.

The BookFest have hosted millions of reading materials which consist of multilingual books, book-related products, stationery, CDs and multimedia products.

The showcase are segmented into three pavilions: Chinese Pavilion available at Hall 1 & 2 featuring Chinese-related literature, English Pavilion located at Hall 4 & 5 featuring English-related titles as well as assessment books and also including the Lifestyle Pavilion in the Grand Ballroom & Banquet Hall located at Level 3 which featured multimedia products, CDs, Stationery and gifts.
