NEW DELHI, June 17 (Bernama) -- India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to witness the final of the 2014 FIFA World Cup currently being held in Brazil.

Modi will travel to Brazil for the summit of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) which will be held from July 15 to 17 in the city of Fortaleza, Press Trust of India reported.

The World Cup final will be held in Rio de Janeiro on July 13.

Given the proximity of the two events, BRICS leaders have been invited by Brazil to the tournament final, the agency quoted the Brazilian embassy as saying.

Last week, Modi launched stamps to commemorate the World Cup.
