UniKL Signs MoU With Human Capital Connection Sdn Bhd

KUALA LUMPUR -- To enhance the employability of students upon graduation and build effective partnerships with companies, Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ob recruitment agency, Human Capital Connection Sdn Bhd.

UniKL president Datuk Dr Mazliham Mohd Suud said this was in line with the university's new concept by introducing what he termed as industrialmanship in its programme.

He said through the MoU which had a time-frame of six months, final-year students at the Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (MIIT) courses would be involved in special training given by the agency to increase their chances of getting their desired jobs.

He was speaking to reporters at the UniKL Career Fair 2014 opening ceremony here.

Jointly organised by UniKL and the agency, the two-day fair opened today. It is held from 10am to 4pm. It provides about 1,500 job opportunities from more than 30 participating multinational companies and small and medium-sized enterprises for the public.

Mazliham said: "In the near future, all UniKL students should follow this concept module where the attachment with the company is done as early as possible, in their programmes."

Meanwhile, the agency's chief executive officer, Michael Tan said several activities had been planned throughout the fair which strived to increase student employability.

"Among the activities are resume and career profiling workshop, meet and greet with corporate leaders, as well as student visit to Digi Telecommunications, Karangkraf, Mesiniaga and The National ICT Association of Malaysia (Pikom)," he said.

Tan said, among the top companies taking part in the fair were One World Hotel, Malaysia Airlines, MJ Department Stores, Naza Wheels, Les' Copaque Production, Inspedia and TelePapers.
