Reaching Out To Nation's Young Through Youth Carnival

TERENGGANU -- The Dungun Youth and Sports Office will host the 1Malaysia Youth Friendly Fiesta Carnival for three days beginning April 10 and at Padang Astaka Ketengah Jaya.

District Youth and Sports Officer Sazli Mahmood said this being the first such carnival, it aimed to bring together youth from across the state as well as bridge the gap between youths, besides targeting 5,000 visitors during the carnival period.

It also involves the participation of youth organisations in at the branch, region and state levels.

"Among the activities to be held are a futsal tournament, 'formasi kompang' competition, Dungun District Quran Recital, community service programmes with the Institute of Youth Affairs (IKBN) Kemasik, 'terkukur' bird competition as well as make-up and fashion contests and more interesting a variety of stalls and there will be an exhibition during the carnival period," he told Bernama here Friday.

To coincide with the carnival, we will cooperate with the Terengganu Youth and Sports Department to organise the Traditional Sports Carnival (SUKTRA) at the state level for one day on April 12 at the same location with games such as 'sepak takraw bulatan', tug of war, sack race and wooden clogs race, he said.
