MMU's Open Day Spiced Up With Celebrity Master Chef

Last update: 31/03/2014

CYBERJAYA -- Multimedia University’s (MMU) Open Day to be held on this upcoming 5th April in its main campus will have added excitement as its own celebrity chef, Nik Michael Imran will be making an appearance and sharing his experience as a student entrepreneur.

To be held on 5th April at MMU’s Cyberjaya campus and 12th April for Melaka at its campus there, MMU’s Open Day is the time when Malaysia's top private university opens its doors to prospective students in search of a university to attend or a course to further their studies.

Nik Michael, who was a finalist on the reality cooking show Master Chef Malaysia Season 1, will be making his appearance at the Cyberjaya campus.

A student of MMU’s, the 23-year old will be giving a talk on entrepreneurship, a topic he is familiar with, given the opening of his own restaurant, PickNik, a few months ago.

Several other MMU alumni will also be present to share their experiences while pursuing their studies at MMU and in their careers that followed after that.

One of these will be Tan Aik Keong, who graduated from the Faculty of Engineering in 2008, who has since co-founded his own company, Agmo Studio.

MMU’s 2014 Open Day will be showcasing MMU’s full range of courses.

Visitors will be able to learn more about what the university has to offer in Engineering, IT, Bioinformatics, Creative Multimedia, Management and Law at the Foundation, Diploma, Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels.

Prospective students and parents will also learn about the various types of financial assistance available at the university. Due to its status as a GLC-owned university, MMU has a wide variety of scholarships and loans available.

Parents and students can speak directly with its academic counsellors and lecturers and learn first-hand why MMU graduates are highly sought-after by employers.

Surveys done by both MMU and the Ministry of Education indicate that more than 90 per cent of MMU’s graduates secure employment within six months of graduation.

In fact, it is quite common for MMU students to receive job offers even before they sit for their final exams – a rarity in most other institutions.

Don’t miss the chance to visit MMU at its Open Day on 5th April at Cyberjaya and on 12th April at the Melaka campus. Its Open Day is open to all from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.
