MMU Faculty of Creative Multimedia Newbies Showcase Talent At ‘Alpha Week 2014’

PUTRAJAYA –- The works of foundation-level students from the Faculty of Creative Multimedia, Multimedia University (FCM MMU) were put on display at the university’s Alpha Week 2014 art exhibition on March 25th and 27th recently.

The exhibition, by a group called the Alpha Foundation Team, was made possible by programme coordinator Ms Elyna Amir Sharji.

A student who was interviewed by this writer revealed that he needed a tranquil surrounding with soft soothing music in the background to complete his project named ‘The Wolf’, for the exhibition.

The exhibits which comprises drawings, designs, photographs, sculptures and acrylic works on canvas were on display at the FCM Gallery and Mini Gallery. Meanwhile, the photography works are displayed via a slide show at the e-gallery.

In addition to the display, the university also conducted talk sessions at its e-Theater,where on the first day, MMU lecturer Mohd Tajalli Abdullah shared with the audience his journey of turning dream into reality – the completion of his tree house named ‘Gunung Raya Studio’, which is situated about 50 feet above ground level in Langkawi.

MMU graduate Shamsul Nashriq Norhisham was invited to speak to the students on the second day of the exhibition. Nasriq is presently the managing director at the MotioFixo advertising agency.

A prize-giving ceremony was held on the first day of the exhibition Azeera Uzahirah Binti Abdul Hakim and the team won the Best Overall Category for the sand sculpture competition. To enliven the occasion the students also put up an ‘unplug guitar’ musical performance, rap battle, including an interesting dance by a foreign student.
