Siti As Icon: Art Exhibition Contributes To Charity

KUALA LUMPUR -– Datuk Siti Nurhaliza’s string of successes as an entertainer and entrepreneur has made her a worthy candidate for the female icon painting exhibition organized by the Atelier Gallery located in Solaris Dutamas, Kuala Lumpur.

Titled 'An Iconic Exhibition of Siti Nurhaliza' the exhibition highlights Datuk Siti Nurhaliza’s life as a pop icon. It features art works of different genres comprising portraits, sketches, sculptures, mixed-media and calligraphy produced by local and foreign artists.

The list of local artists whose works are on display includes Amir Firdaus Tarmizi, Arikwibowo Amril, Azizi Latif, Badruddin Syah Abdul Wahab, Faiz Yunus, Haafiz Shahimi, Haffendi Anuar, Khairul Arshad, .Syahbandi Samat, Nazmi Ismail, Sabihis Md. Pandi, Scott and Dhameer Abbas, Shafiq Nordin, Firdaus Mahadi, Zizan Rozman.

Meanwhile, the foreign artists comprises Adrian Torres (Spain) and Nightwatcher (Iran) The art works carry price tags ranging from RM 1,500 to a breath-taking RM 75,000 and thirty percent of the sale proceeds will go to the Yayasan Nurjiwa to help the needy.

Artelier Gallery co-owner Ahmad Khairo Othman urged art lovers and connoisseurs not to miss out viewing the unique art pieces that are on display as each is a masterpiece in itself and tells a different story of Siti Nurhaliza’s journey from an unknown singer to a songstress who is much celebrated nationally as well as internationally.

"Apart from being a thing of beauty, these art works are also a form of investment since their price will appreciate over time," Ahmad said.

The exhibition runs from Feb 27 to March 26. Opening time is from 10.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday. The Gallery is closed on Monday.
