UTHM proud to have two involved in its efforts to produce skilled human capital as Ministers

BATU PAHAT, March 10 -- Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) here, is proud to have two people’s representatives who are involved in its efforts to produce a highly skilled human capital appointed as Ministers.

UTHM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Wahid Razzaly was referring to Parit Sulong Member of Parliament Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad and Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Dr Wee Ka Siong who are the new Minister of Higher Education and Transport Minister respectively.

In congratulating the two, Wahid said the extensive experience of the two representatives who had served as Human Resources deputy minister (Noraini) and Education deputy minister (Wee), would put them in good stead to contribute immensely to the nation.

“Noraini's appointment is hoped to help UTHM become one of the best public universities in the country, especially in exploring the latest technology and producing capable graduates," he said when contacted by Bernama, here today.

Meanwhile, on Wee's appointment, Wahid said UTHM could benefit from the collaboration with the Ministry of Transport as the main focus of the university’s study was on technology related to transportation.

“We have previously collaborated with the Transport Ministry in some research, including research on High-Speed Rail (HSR) and hope it will be continued,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ayer Hitam MCA Division chief Ling Tian Soon said Wee’s appointment could contribute to the development in the area, especially in the construction of the suspended HSR station project in Batu Pahat to be continued,” he said.
