KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 (Bernama) -- Malaysian songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin's 'Simplysiti Di Hati' campaign in 2019 secured RM171,145 in funds which have been used to cover surgeries for five underprivileged children aged two to four.

The five children, comprising Siah Wan Ying, Nurul Syamimi Ahmad Paridon, Auni Insyirah Muhammad Firdaus Hilmi, Auni Mardhiyah Ahmad Hanafi and R. Mugilan, have all undergone surgeries and are recovering.

Siti Nurhaliza, who is also the president of Simplysiti Sdn Bhd, said since the launch of the campaign in 2011, more than RM200,000 had been raised and channelled to the IJN Foundation, which raises funds for patients seeking treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN).

So far, the funds raised by Simplysiti have helped fund treatment for a total of 14 children of various races.

"It is a wonderful experience to meet with people who have supported the mission of Simplysiti to assist those in need, especially children with heart problems," she said after a ceremony yesterday at a shopping mall, where she handed over a cheque to Raja Datin Seri Zuraida Raja Mansur, a member of the board of trustees for the foundation.
