SHAH ALAM, Feb 6 -- Mara University of Technology (UiTM) today launched its 2025 Strategic Plan in an effort to produce more graduates of quality and with entrepreneurial features in line with the government's aspiration through the Mutual Prosperity Vision (WKB2030).

The launch of the 2025 Strategic Plan was performed by the university's board of directors chairman, Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir at a ceremony at the UiTM Chancellor's Dewan Agung here.

Also present at the event was UiTM Vice-Chancellor Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Ir Mohd Azraai Kassim.

The five-year plan aimed at making UiTM one of the world's leading universities outlines three key pillars of quality education, global excellence and value-based performance.

Syed Zainal Abidin said, as the largest university in the country, the launch of the plan was seen in support of the government's desire to produce high quality graduates who would meet the demands of the industrial job market in the future.

“The plan is based on what the government wants us to produce and we see that it is in line with the 10th and 11th Malaysia Plans.

"We also want to make sure that the UiTM graduates which we produce are not only academically competent but also able to contribute back to the community," he told reporters after the event.

At the same time, he said, in order to realise the strategic plan, UiTM would also improve the quality of the technology used today so that the university's graduates could meet the requirements of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

In addition, Syed Zainal Abidin said through the plan, UiTM would work closely with various world-class universities and multi-national companies to provide a broader picture and exposure to the academic sector and job market needs of its graduates.

UiTM, established over 64 years ago, has produced over 800,000 graduates in various fields and now has more than 180,000 students at 35 university campuses nationwide.
