Import players cannot entice Yusri Che Lah

KOTA BHARU, Jan 11 -- No import player has been able to woo Kelantan chief coach Yusri Che Lah yet to strengthen the team for the Premier League competition this season.

Yusri said this was rather worrying as only a month remained for the team’s preparation before the kick-off in February.

‘’Prior to this, I tested four foreign players, but have not met a player who can entice me to rope him in to strengthen the team.

‘’I am still searching and cannot allow this to continue because the one month period is very short for me to build players’ compatibility,’’ he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

Prior to this, The Red Warrior (TRW) team tested four import players, namely, Odili Felix Chidi (Nigeria) who played in the attacking position, Ghanefo Ansumana Agogo Kromah (Liberia), also a striker, Bektur Talgat Uulu (Kyrgyzstan), a midfielder and Eze Kingley Obomneme (Nigeria) a defender.

He said the quota for local players had been completed and handed over to the management before an announcement is made next month.

‘’For the time being, I cannot make a decision and must wait one more week before the final list of the players is announced,’’ he said.

Meanwhile, he said his team was comfortable with the presence of Wan Zaharul Nizam Wan Zakaria and Mohd Nazrin Mohd Nawi, but they still needed continuous monitoring as they were at the preliminary fitness level.

‘’Both players showed encouraging commitments in friendly matches prior to this. I want them to quickly reach the desired fitness level in order to together achieve what the team needs this season.

‘’Experienced players like them are needed in the first 11 to guide the other young players,’’ he added.
