KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 26 -- National Under-22 (U-22) forward, Hadi Fayyadh Abdul Razak was eager to make his debut in Division 2 of Japan Professional Football League (J.League) after 12 months of struggling to break into Fagiano Okayama´s main team.

The 19-year-old former Johor Darul Ta´zim II´s (JDT II) striker recently agreed on a contract extension to stay with Fagiano Okayama for another one year, keeping him with the club until December 2020.

Hadi Fayyadh was hampered by a hamstring injury for two months during the spell as well as having a language issue, but now hopes to put it all behind to fight for a regular spot in the team.

He was determined to help Fagiano Okayama gain their promotion to the top-flight league, the J1 League in 2021.

"For sure (will make a debut) because this year I had an injury for a few months so it was quite tough for me. I hope everything goes well next season and my aim is to work hard for my club and my country. Hopefully, I will make my debut in the team and score as many goals as I can.

"I hope next year will be my year, help my team to win every match and to play in J1 League for 2021 season," he told reporters after paying a courtesy call on Japan's Ambassador to Malaysia, Hiroshi Oka at his residence, here today.

Oka said Hadi's contract extension would help to strengthen the relationship between Malaysia and Japan.

"I'm very excited to meet Mr Hadi at my residence...he is the first Malaysian footballer in Japan's professional league. I'm very much pleased to hear that he is going to continue to play for Fagiano Okayama.

"I'm looking forward to his appearance in Japan so that he can make Japan-Malaysia people closer," Oka told reporters.

Aware of the lack of Malaysian players in Japan's professional league, Oka said: "We are looking forward to seeing more Malaysian people in Japan in whatever fields, whatever sports. We love to see more Malaysians come to Japan and that will make the friendship between the Malaysian and Japanese people ever stronger."
