
A fierce battle at the inaugural Perak e-Sports Championships
Last update: 22/12/2019IPOH, Dec 22 -- The inaugural Perak Electronic Sports (e-Sports) Championship held at the Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) last night witnessed a fierce battle in the final round among competing teams.
The competition involved four e-Sports games namely Defense of the Ancients (DOTA 2), Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and FIFA 20.
At the one-day tournament which involved 211 participants and offered a total cash prize of RM18,000, Gioco Home E-Sport of Kerian zone emerged as the winner in the DOTA 2 competition after defeating M&M Perak E-Sport from Kinta Zone, 2-1 in the final match.
For their feat, the team comprising five youngsters received a cash prize of RM3,000, while M&M Perak E-Sport as the runner-up took home RM1,000.
Meanwhile, in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and PUBG games, the competition was won by team Laka-Laka of Hilir Perak zone and MPX team of Kinta zone respectively and received RM3,000 each.
In the FIFA 20, an individual competition, Khairul Al-Amini Jamaluddin Al-Amini of Central Perak zone won the final match when he beat Muhamad Qhushairi Zulkiflie of Hilir Perak zone. He received a cash prize of RM1,500, while Muhamad Qhushairi took home RM700.
The prizes were presented by Perbadanan Aspirasi Anak Perak (PASAK) chief executive officer, Jim Khong.
