JDT to join billion ringgit club in two years - Tunku Ismail

ISKANDAR PUTERI,  Dec 20 -- Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) football club owner, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim is targeting the Southern Tigers to be worth RM1 billion in two years’ time.

He said the target could be achieved by taking into consideration all assets of JDT such as properties, stadium as well as other facilities.

"JDT have accumulated all assets of the club and we are handing the records over to four accounting firms to evaluate all JDT commercial assets.

"So far, RM600 million has been accounted and it is expected to take up to two years to reach the target of RM1 billion,” he told reporters at JDT headquarters here today.

In this regard, Tunku Ismail said the new JDT stadium, Sultan Ibrahim Stadium would officially start operation on January 25.

"An Asian Football Confederation (AFC) representative will be present to inspect to ensure the stadium meets the standard set by the Asian football governing body,” he said.

Tunku Ismail also announced JDT is allocating RM75 million to build several new club facilities for the Super League champions.

Among them included a new training centre, a mini stadium with 8,000 capacity and two covered fields within Stadium Sultan Ibrahim site.

"The training centre at Sri Gelam will be operating as a treatment centre complete with world standard health equipment,” he said.

Meanwhile on Liridon Krasniqi joining the club next season, Tunku Ismail said the player is hardworking, committed and very professional.

JDT announced signing the former Kedah player at a media conference by coach Benjamin Mora here today.
