KUANTAN, Dec 18 -- National Under-22 striker Hadi Fayyadh Abdul Razak will play with Japan division two professional football (J League) club Fagiano Okayama for another year.

Yakult (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd managing director Hiroshi Hamada said the company was ready to extend its sponsorship for Hadi Fayyadh because he has big potential.

He said Hadi Fayyadh had also shown good commitment in his first year with the club.

"He has shown a good performance and yet he is only 19. I believe he could be polished to become a better player next season. Last year, injury and language differences were the barriers for him to show his true skills,” he told a press conference at the Mokhtar Dahari Academy here today.

Hamada said most of the J League players reached their peak at the age 21 or 22.

Hamada said the company considered Hadi Fayyadh to be a long-term investment.

Meanwhile, Hadi Fayyadh said his performance was inconsistent last season but believed that with the strong support of his family, Yakult Malaysia and the club he could shine in the Land of the Rising Sun.

"I was inconsistent last season, especially when I was carrying an injury for two months and trying to adapt myself there.

"But it’s not impossible for me to rise and fight for places in the first eleven. I now know what the coach wants and will work hard to fulfil his expectations,” he added.

Hadi Fayyadh said he was continuing to train during his current break because he did not want to be left behind by his teammates on his return to Japan.
