KL's first ever kid-sized hotel opens its doors at KidZania

PETALING JAYA, Dec 18  – KidZania Kuala Lumpur today welcomed the city’s first ever kid-sized hotel (Hotel Sentral) to bring new perspective to children about the various job professions in the hospitality industry.

Enhancing the ‘learn life today’ philosophy, the new Hotel Sentral establishment at KidZania Kuala Lumpur supports early stage exposure and learning about managing a hotel among children, providing them with new skill sets for the future.

With the official opening of the Hotel Sentral Group’s establishment, children will get a whole new perspective of how a hotel functions to ensure its guests have an enjoyable and comfortable stay.

KidZania Kuala Lumpur’s head of sales and marketing, Wan Mahsuri Wan Ahmad Kamal said the activities for kids in the establishment included hands-on experience at the front office and behind the scenes, such as in the housekeeping department to learn how hotel rooms and facilities are upkept on a daily basis.

“At Hotel Sentral, kids will learn about communication. We can see the kids ‘working’ at the front office, learn how to ask and answer questions from guests and so on, which can build confidence.” she added.

Hotel Sentral also holds the distinction of being the first ever hotel chain in Malaysia to receive the KidZos or KidZania currency as a payment method where the kids will have an opportunity to learn about financial literacy.

On the partnership, Wan Mahsuri said: “We’re delighted to have Hotel Sentral Group, one of Malaysia’s fastest growing hospitality companies, to hop on board with us on a journey to expand knowledge, promote values and develop skills among children.”

Representing Hotel Sentral Group at the announcement ceremony was its director, Jeremy Ong; management general manager, George Lee; group general manager Yusri Chan and marketing director, Steven Ang.

Kidzania’s kid-sized city experience which is targeted at kids aged four to 14 years, allows them to choose from over 100 job-related role plays spread across 60 various city establishments.
