“We will go on a tour of the schools in Penang, bringing along professionals who will give exposure to the students in selected areas. Education is a very valuable asset especially to youths who will be the leaders of the future.

“We also want students to be aware of the need for skills which they need to have to be relevant to the job market,” he told Bernama when met at his office inf Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak (KOMTAR).

Soon said the programme is targeted to begin in Jan 2020 after approval from the state education department.

He said professionals who want to be volunteers on the programme are welcomed to join.

“So far, there are more than 200 volunteers who registered after the programme was launched last month. The state government will begin efforts to promote the programme in December,” he said.
