UTeM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Raha Abdul Rahim said the five students representing UTeM are Mohamed Alif Najmi Ikmil Hazri, Danial Irfan Abd Halim, Muhamad Haziq Haikal Kamarudin and Ariz Mustaffar from the Mechanical Engineering Faculty as well as Wan Ashraf Idham Wan Abdullah from the Manufacturing Engineering Faculty.

“The victorious team took home RM18,000 in cash prize and won a special slot to represent UTeM in the same championship next year,” he said in a statement here.

He said the success proved the student in engineering could also shine e-sports.

Meanwhile, UTeM deputy vice-chancellor (Student Affairs) Associate Prof Dr Nurulfajar Abd Manap said e-sports is not seen as a waste of time as it has developed into a team activity as well.

PMCC is the first university e-sports championship for students to show their talent and skills.
