UniMAP must maintain its excellent performance - Chancellor

ARAU, Nov 16  -- Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail wants Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) to maintain its excellent performance and become a trusted consultant for various quarters, locally and internationally.  

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin who is also UniMAP Chancellor said therefore, the citizens of UniMAP must prioritise the principles of transparency, accountability and ethics while seeking knowledge and carrying out daily tasks to make UniMAP a credible institution.

"The various references studied to generate new knowledge that are then incorporated into thesis and journal writing, should also be presented in a worldwide network of researchers.

“This to ensure the knowledge to be shared and disseminated while at the same time educating ourselves to respect the diversity of ideas,” he said when officiating the first session of UniMAP's 14th convocation here today.

Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil who is also UniMAP's pro-chancellor also present.

During today's session, Karangkraf media group chairman Datuk Husamuddin Yaacub received an honorary doctorate in management  while former member of UniMAP board of directors Datuk Dr Mohd Sofi Osman was awarded with an honorary doctorate in engineering.

Apart from that, 263 graduates received their degrees today, of which 114 received Doctor of Philosophy degrees while the remaining 149 individuals were Masters degree recipients.
