KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 -- The youths participating in the Constitutional Monarchy and Parliamentary Democracy Discussion programme have gained new experience in voicing their views and opinions on various issues.

The two-day programme, which ended yesterday and organised by the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Information Department, was participated by four teams of students from PICOMS International University College (two teams), Universiti Kuala Lumpur (one team) and Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) (one team).

Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory Information Department director Erwin Khairul Ahmad said the programme was aimed at, among others, learning the perception of youths towards the constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy system.

"Through this programme, we give the youths the opportunity to instill the spirit of love for the country and respect the principles of the Rukun Negara in upholding the constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy system," he told Bernama.

Besides Kuala Lumpur, the programme was also organised in Melaka, Labuan and Pahang.

In addition, the discussion programme also served as a platform for youth to express their views and concerns to be ethically resolved in an intellectual context.

Group 2 from PICOMS emerged the overall winner while Muhammad Izzat Sallehudin from UPNM was selected as the best participant.
