MARii launches advanced production solution to spur Industry 4.0 adoption

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 -- The Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) today launched a one-stop advanced production management solution to further drive the country’s Industry 4.0 adoption.

Called the Industry4WRD Technology Platform (MITP), it tracks and gathers accurate, real-time data on the complete production lifecycle, the agency said in a statement today.

It offers production planning, resource management, performance analysis, product tracking and genealogy, process execution, data collection and quality management in a single, integrated cloud-based solution.

The platform will also provide information that allows decision-makers to understand the state of factory operations to optimise the production process. 

"This, in turn, benefits manufacturers by boosting production efficiency, product quality and improve quality control response times," MARii chief executive officer Datuk Madani Sahari said. 

He said one of the key strategies in developing SME capability in the era of Industry 4.0 is bridging the gaps for SMEs to access new technologies that improve the intelligence and productivity of their in-house operations.

"The holistic nature of the MITP translates to seamless integration through a singular solution to monitor and analyse company-wide operation, allowing business owners and managers to focus on the true values and intricacies that lie in their product function and competitiveness," he added.

Madani said small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can also leverage on the technology to deploy Industry 4.0 technologies.

"Apart from use in the automotive and mobility sector, the platform is applicable in various industries from furniture (smart manufacturing), handicraft manufacturing or souvenirs to optimise process lifecycle and offer higher value products," he added.

MITP was launched at the Industry4WRD Summit 2019 today by the International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Darell Leiking.
