KOTA BHARU, 8 Okt  -- Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) is providing mineral water and water containers for students at its Bachok branch campus residing at the IBS Temporary Residential College who are affected by the clean water supply disruption in the district.

Deputy vice-chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Prof Dr Zaliman Sauli said the welfare of the students had always been his concern, especially those affected by the clean water supply disruption.

"The contribution of the bottled drinking water and water containers is hoped to ease their hardship. Some 700 bottles of 10-litre mineral water and containers to store water have been distributed to the students,” he said in a statement here today.

Bernama recently reported that UMK is building two tube wells and installing a water filter system  worth RM400,000 to address water supply disruption at its Bachok campus.

“Construction of tube wells will be carried out soon so as not to disrupt the students' focus on their studies,” he added.
