Siti Nurhaliza to take part in coastal ride in PD this Sunday

PORT DICKSON, Oct 2 -- Malaysia's beloved songstress Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Taruddin is among 1,600 riders who have confirmed their participation for the Bank Muamalat Avillion Coastal Ride 2019 on Sunday.

According to the event organiser, Siti was expected to join the 30km category which would start and end at the Avillion Admiral Cove Hotel here, that covered places, among other, the Port Dickson Polytechnic, Teluk Kemang, Jalan Sri Rusa and Jalan Pantai.

Avillion Hotel Group business development and marketing director Helen Tan said the cycling programme, which has entered its third edition, has received an encouraging response including from participants from Singapore.

“There are three categories, namely 160km, 80km and 30km. In the past the programme has been successful, attracting over a thousand participants. Last year, a total of 1,200 cyclists had participated.

“In addition to the rides, the event is also aimed at promoting Port Dickson as a holiday destination. We also have a plan to turn this programme into an annual event,” she said.

A total of 280 participants will take part in the 160km category, while 1,100 participants registered in 80km and 220 for the 30km ride.

Each participant will receive a jersey, a medal, personal insurance and electronic certificates which will be sent to their emails, as well as a chance to win attractive prizes in lucky draws including a 48-inch television set.
