KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 (Bernama) -- Malaysian comedians, Hannan Azlan, Kavin Jay and Nigel Ng are set to represent Malaysia in Comedy Central’s original production Stand-Up, Asia!

Hannan Azlan, 24,  is the youngest and the first and only woman to win the 2016 Hong Kong International Comedy Competition, it said in a statement today.

Fellow countryman Kavin Jay is a returning comic from the first season of the production, meanwhile Nigel Ng, has made a name for himself debuting in Comedy Central’s Rob Delaney’s Stand Up Central in 2018.

Back for a fourth season, Stand-Up, Asia! will take the action off the stage and into a millennial co-living space to deliver the punchiest brand of Asian laughs, this time featuring sketches in addition to the show’s signature stand-up comedy, it added.

Hosted by comedians from Singapore, Benjamin Kheng and Hirzi Zulkiflie of The BenZi Project, this season’s production will inject a smart dose of funny with satires that play on Asian culture, social norms, and idiosyncrasies in scripted sketches set to form a narrative across the show.

Other comedians include Sam See, Qamarul Haziq (Singapore), Brian Tseng (Taiwan), Zainal Bostaman (Brunei),  Yumi Nagashima, a Japanese comedian based in Canada, JR De Guzman, Ryan Puno (the Philippines), Storm Xu (China) and Aaron Chen from Australia.
