KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 (Bernama) -- Serba Dinamik IT, a subsidiary of Serba Dinamik Group Bhd (Serba Dinamik), is featuring Sophia, a social humanoid robot, at the Beyond Paradigm Summit 2019.

Serba Dinamik is the main organiser of the summit to be held in Kuala Lumpur from July 17-18 July and Kuching from July 20-21.

Developed by Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics, Sophia made its first public appearance in 2016 and has since travelled to more than 25 countries to appear in prestigious events and meet renowned leaders.

According to a statement, Sophia will showcase its skill in drawing Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and debating with Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

The Beyond Paradigm Summit, to be held at the Malaysian International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC), will showcase advanced technologies encapsulating the core ideas of digitalisation and data exchange surrounding Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0), and will be officiated by Dr Mahathir.

According to Serba Dinamik Group managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Dr Ir Mohd Karim Abdullah, the industry as a whole needs to equip themselves with distinctive digital solutions by transforming how they operate in a volatile global economy affected by the dynamics of technology advancements, trade disputes and geopolitical uncertainties.

The summit will introduce participants to the advanced technologies covering industries such as energy, healthcare, manufacturing, finance, education, telecommunications and transportation.

It will show how these technologies can drive competitiveness through value-added processes such as digitisation, advanced manufacturing and efficient resource utilisation.

“We are very serious in nurturing these capabilities, as our collaboration with Microsoft Corp signed last September shows. The collaboration with Microsoft involves integrating digital capability into our operations and management business segment that can bring significant cost savings.

“In this respect, featuring Sophia, the world’s first robot who has a human-like appearance and behaviour enabled by artificial intelligence, can carry out simple conversations and is designed to get smarter over time, is to show the potentialities surrounding IR 4.0 and the world beyond,” he said.
