#PantunRayaMudah Contest Revitalizes The Pantun Tradition

KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 (Bernama) -- In a bid to revive the pantun tradition among younger generation, #PantunRayaMudah contest was recently launched by the Faculty of Communications and Media Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).

Held in conjunction with the raya festivities, the contest was a partnership between the faculty and Mudah.my, it said in a statement.

Participants were required to author a pantun of their best raya experiences which were then shared on their social media profiles.

Muhammad Harith Dannial Zaharin, a 22-year-old UiTM advertising student won the judges’ hearts with his “Pantun Pertamaku”, inspired by memories of spending the festive season with his grandparents.

Muhammad Harith walked away with the grand prize of RM400.

According to the statement, the contest aimed at reviving lost art and traditions within the younger generation as well as encouraging them to be inspired by their local heritage.
