KAJANG, May 9 (Bernama) -- Pusat Jagaan Al-Fikrah, which houses 70 old folks and disabled youth today received donations from EXIM Bank in conjunction with the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme during Ramadan.

The bank provided two drying machines and RM5,000 to cover the expenses for the centre apart from donating bed sheets, bath towels, ‘sarongs’ and other daily uses.

Its acting Chief Executive Officer Azhar Awang Kechil said this is one of their initiatives to give back to the society, not only through financial and business programme, but also through activities involving the communities in need.

“We hope with this little help from us, it can reduce the burden of the caretaker to provide the needs of the people here,” he told Bernama after handing over the cheque and donation to Pusat Jagaan Al-Fikrah chairman Mohd Azmi Md Zain during a breaking-of-fast programme, here.

At the same event, EXIM Bank also distributed 200 packs of food to the nearby residents for its #KongsiNikmat food truck, a collaboration with the Star Media Group aimed at engaging and assisting the less fortunate communities by giving out packed food for breaking-of-fast.

The #KongsiNikmat food truck will also be stationed at two other selected areas which are Madrasah Hashimiah in Selayang (May 13) and Madrasah Rohingya in Klang on May 15.
