Belarus club shows interest in Akhyar Rashid

KUALA LUMPUR, May 9 (Bernama) -- Belarusian Premier League club Bate Borisov are reported to be interested in giving a trial to Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) player Muhammad Akhyar Abdul Rashid very soon. 

According to a brief statement posted on the Football Agent - Malaysia Facebook page, the club will be contacting Muhammad Akhyar to discuss the matter in detail. 

If he is successful in signing up with Bate Borisov, the nippy forward will be the first Malaysian footballer to feature in the UEFA Champions League qualifier or the Europa League competition, the statement read. 

Muhammad Akhyar joined JDT from Kedah at the end of last season on a four-year contract, and the national player is reported to have a buy-over value of RM12 million. 

Bate Borisov are lying third in the Belarus Premier League after playing six matches so far.  

The club, based in the Minsk region, have featured in the Champions League qualifiers and also in the Europa League.
