Hit Drama Series Nur Premieres For Second Season

KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 (Bernama) – After its astounding success on TV3 which saw a cumulative rating of 11 million views, hit drama series Nur returns for the second season.

Its producer Primeworks, Studios Sdn Bhd in a statement said, the series which kicked off yesterday will be aired from Monday to Thursday on Samarinda Slot, TV3 at 10 pm.

The second season of the controversial series follows the forbidden love between a religious activist, Adam and a prostitute, Nur. It promises new characters alongside original cast of the first season, starring Amyra Rosli, Syafiq Kyle, Azar Azmi, Noorkhiriah, Azhan Rani, Raja Atiq, Eyra Hazali, Dato' Jalaluddin Hassan and Fatimah Abu Bakar.

Through the collaboration between Primeworks Distribution and iflix, fans can now enjoy the second season, express from TV3 on iflix, just an hour after the end of the linear channel’s broadcast. Season 1 of Nur has also been available on iflix since March 22.

iflix Global Director of Original Programming, Mark Francis said, “The proven popularity of Nur with TV3’s viewers made iflix’s ambition to partner with Primeworks Distribution on the second season a smart bet.”

General Manager of Primeworks Distribution, Lyn Nasihin said, "We believe this partnership between Primeworks Distribution and iflix marks a significant collaboration. As a content distributor, it is important that our content is accessible to audiences across all platforms, be it on linear channels or OTT platforms.”

At the premiere event recently, a new lineup of Nur products was also introduced. Partnering with new licensee, Blancheur, a range of instant scarves and prayer veils (telekung) by Arjana carefully curated to fit the character background and story of Nur were showcased during a catwalk session at the event.

Founder of Blancheur, Datin Haslinda Abdul Rahim said, "I would like to express that we at Blancheur are extremely honoured to be a part of this incredible project. We are sure this collection is a must-have for all women. The beautiful outcome is a great partnership and working relationship between Blancheur and TV3.”

Following the success of Nur the novel, publishing licensee Karya Seni Sdn Bhd also released the sequel, Nur 2, a continuation of the epic series written by Rose Harissa. Both novels, Nur and Nur 2, were inspired from the script written by producer and director of the Nur drama series, Shahrulezad Mohamedddin.
