Sofia Ramasamy Crowned First Miss Amazing Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, March 15 (Bernama) -- Sofia Lovi Ramasamy, 39, who is afflicted with arthritic psoriasis, was crowned the first Miss Amazing Malaysia at the grand finals of the pageant held at Westlane Place, Petaling Jaya, recently.

Taking the runner up spot was Nurhana Md Yusof, 28, a student and full time model who was born with albinism, while Nor Athira Sujino, 24, a Commis Chef with Lupus, was crowned third.

Organiser, Amazing Girls Solutions in a statement said, the unique pageant provided a platform for women with Down syndrome, Lupus, Scoliosis, Vitiligo, Autism and other disorders, to pursue their goals and live their lives to their fullest potential.

“In an atmosphere built around encouragement and support, Miss Amazing Malaysia believes it can bring these individuals together and promote further inclusion for these beautiful women with special needs,” pageant founder, Maynicca Dewi Rajamanikam was quoted during her welcome address.

Miss Wheelchair Malaysia 2018, Nur Ashikeen performed on the night with a heartfelt rendition of "Colours of The Wind." Also performing on the night was iconic Malaysian singer Franciscca Peter.

Also present Director of Jabatan Pembangunan Orang Kurang Upaya (JPOKU), Datuk Maria Bernard Sinsoi and President of main sponsors Puteri Malaysia Ambulance, Datuk Raj Chelliah.
