Repsol Malaysia in a statement said the scholarship programme supported the company's objective of providing exposure on career opportunities to students in the oil and gas industry.

Repsol Malaysia’s Director of Business Unit, Jorge Milathianakis said,  “REPSOL takes on the challenge of reinventing the future of energy every single day and our Digitalisation Transformation programme is the cornerstone of this change.”

The Repsol scholarship provides financial assistance to students ranging from RM30,000 to RM40,000 per course covering tuition fees, living allowances, computer and internship opportunities.

More than RM4 million scholarships have been disbursed so far since its introduction a decade ago. A total of 118 students pursuing Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Malaya, Universiti Sains Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Sabah have benefitted from the award.

Repsol Malaysia also fortified the programme by signing a new Memorandum of Agreement to mark its third cycle to further include a new partner university – Universiti Malaysia Terengganu.
