"Remembering Whitney" To Raise Funds For Underprivileged Children

KUALA LUMPUR, March 7 (Bernama) -- ‘Remembering Whitney – the Greatest Love of All’ live music concert will be hitting Istana Budaya Kuala Lumpur for two nights from March 22.

Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah will grace the show aimed at raising funds for Badan Amal Kasih Sayang (Bakasa), Rumah Kanak-kanak Tengku Ampuan Afzan (Ruktaa) and the Centre of Innovation Tengku Ampuan Afzan (Cintaa).

Combining talent both from overseas and local artistes, the live concert is one of the ongoing efforts to help underprivileged children and families to build a better living environment they deserve.

Speaking at a press conference at Istana Budaya today, Bakasa president, Tengku Puteri Seri Teja Pahang Tengku Muhaini Sultan Ahmad Shah  said, the non-profit, charitable organisation hoped to raise RM700,000 from the concert.

 “We are hosting this event as part of our on-going efforts to raise funds for Bakasa, Ruktaa, our home for under privileged children and Cintaa, a centre to develop and improve the scientific literacy and technology acumen of children, based on an exchange of technology driven innovative ideas and solution,” said Tengku Muhaini.

Also present at the press conference was chairman of Bakasa’s Royal Charity Gala Performance, Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

The concert to celebrate the life and songs of the late Whitney Houston, will be performed by multi-talented songstress and Whitney's soulful mirror, Trina Johnson Finn.

Trina, who has shared the stage with iconic stars such as Barbara Streisand, Michael Bolton and MC Hammer, is set to enthral the audience with breath-taking renditions of 17 of

Whitney's memorable classics, including Greatest Love of All, I'm Every Woman, I Will Always Love You and I Wanna Dance With Somebody.
