LimKokWing uni, FMM collaborate to strengthen Malaysian brands

CYBERJAYA,  Jan 25 (Bernama) -- Limkokwing University of Creative Technology  (Limkokwing University) and the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), Selangor branch, today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly advance the competitiveness of Malaysian brands, globally.  

The university's senior vice-president for industry empowerment Datuk Raja Aznil Raja Hisham said the MoU signaled the beginning of a significant effort towards addressing the gaps within the industry in relation to the use of social media to strengthen Malaysia's brands in penetrating the export market.

“To increase the global competitiveness, Limkokwing University will provide an active training support to FMM Selangor branch members in branding, design and packaging expertise.

“The MoU will also allow Limkokwing students to garner industry-based education through internship programmes and industry talks or seminars.

“We look forward to more meetings with the respective stakeholders to put our plans into action,” he said.

Meanwhile, FMM Selangor branch chairman Jacob Lee hoped the collaboration would establish more Malaysia brands in the global market.

“We need to ensure our products remain competitive locally and globally. 

"Therefore, branding, designing, packaging, as well as, online promotions will help promote Malaysian products,” he added.
