KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 3 (Bernama) -- Former national swimmer Datuk Robert Lim hopes his book, entitled “Everything is a story – The Memoirs of Dato’ Robert Lim”, will inspire young athletes to go for glory in sports.

The 70-year-old Kedah-born said the book would only be distributed to young athletes and at selected schools as a way to motivate them to do well in sports, adding that the book would be printed in two versions – English and Chinese.

“I launched this book to motivate young people, who participate in sports, and to let them know that they have a bright future in this field.

“I also hope more young people and officials, who are active in sports, will read this book and be inspired to go out and achieve big things in their careers,” he told reporters after launching his book, here, today.

Among Lim’s many achievements in swimming are winning two gold medals at 1966 Penang State Championships as well as a gold medal in the 50m freestyle (65-70 years category) in the 2017 Malaysia International Swimming Championships.

He also represented Malaysia in the third SEAP Games (now known as SEA Games) in 1965 in Kuala Lumpur but did not win any medals.
