KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 2 (Bernama) -- 'Scent of Tango' concert, featuring live performances from renowned Argentine artistes, will take the Malaysian stage on March 23.

Produced by Fame Studio Malaysia and organised by Quimico Sdn Bhd, the show will be held at Kuala Lumpur Performance Art Centre, Pentas 1 at 8 pm.

Producer of ‘Scent of Tango’ and co-founder of Fame Studio Jeannie Low said in a statement today, "The art of Tango is to embrace the freedom of expression and channel the positive energy to the partner, which is why the dance is deemed as one of the most unique dances in the world."

Borrowing its name from the popular movie, ‘Scent of a Woman’, the event will showcase the world’s top performers namely Sebastian Acosta and Laura D’Anna, the champions of Mundial World Tango 2014, and Roberto Castillo and Julieta Biscione, Argentine Professional Stage Tango Dancers.

World-renowned orchestra, Hyperion Ensemble, will perform popular music from the Tango ‘Old Guard’ such as D’arienzo, Pugliese, Canaro, among others. It will also play famous contemporary music by composer such as Astor Piazzolla.

The event, which is fully supported by the Embassy of Argentina in Malaysia, aims to promote Argentine culture and strengthen the government-to-government relations under Cultural Exchange Initiative.

"We are expecting audience mainly to come from Malaysia but surely Tango enthusiasts around the region will not want to miss out on this event. More so, we want Malaysians who are interested in art and culture but are yet familiar with Tango, to take this opportunity to get to know this art form," added Low.

Tickets are priced from RM100 to RM230. For event details and other enquiries on workshop and milongas, contact Jeannie Low at +601 2217 7183 or email
