PPIM launches second season of consumer programme

KUALA LUMPUR, July 11 (Bernama) -- The Muslim Consumers Association of Malaysia (PPIM) today launched the second season of 'Consumer Power Movement' ('Gerakan Kuasa Pengguna') to be aired on Bernama News Channel (BNC) starting July 18.

The programme, which received an encouraging response in its first season, will be aired live for 13 weeks through a special talk show (Ruang Bicara Khas) slot sponsored by the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN).

PPIM chief activist, Datuk Nadzim Johan, said that the association will maintain its discussions on consumer issues in the new season, such as fraud, consumer debts, loan sharks (Ah Long) and consumer awareness.

"We hope to mould the public with better consumer knowledge as we will bring a new perspective that can create a new awareness to the society.

"We will also include discussions on latest issues such as digital currency fraud, and we will feature guests from diverse backgrounds," he said in a press conference at PPIM head office, here, today.

Also present were PTPTN chief executive, Wan Ahmad Wan Yusoff; deputy chief executive (policy and operations) of PTPTN, Mastura Mohd Khalid; and deputy editor-in-chief (audio-visual services) of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), Abdul Rahman Ahmad.

Meanwhile, Wan Ahmad said the collaboration is the best way for PTPTN to provide consumer awareness to members the public.

"We hope the cooperation will achieve its aim and we will keep to the plan if it is successful," added Wan Ahmad.
