OG Joins Red Bull Family

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 4 (Bernama) -- Red Bull has welcomed four-time Defence of the Ancients (Dota) major winners to the family, it was announced here.

Dota is a multiplayer online battle arena mod for the video game Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.

The objective of the game is for each team to destroy their opponents' Ancient, a heavily guarded structure at the opposing corner of the map, which is based on the "Aeon of Strife" map for StarCraft.

Red Bull said in a statement, since OG's breakthrough at the Frankfurt Majors in late 2015, they continued to build their status as legends of the game.

"Their strong roster includes Johan "N0tail" Sundstein, Anathan "ana" Pham, Gustav "s4" Magnusson, Jesse "JerAx" Vainikka, and captain - Tal "Fly" Aizik. Coming from all over the world, they are now based in Europe and disrupting the Dota2 scene," it said.

OG EYEING FOR VICTORY

Red Bull said OG was eyeing for victory at TI7. They have won four out of five of Valve´s official Major tournaments over the past two years, an unparalleled record, and now they are looking to lift the Aegis of Champions, the biggest trophy in Dota.

Having missed out last year, team captain Tal ‘Fly´ Aizik said he was looking to right those wrongs and hopefully establish OG as G.O.A.T.

"With the assistance of the global and Canadian Red Bull team, we decided to return to Canada this summer, this time in the greater Toronto area.

We chose this location, or more specifically North America, primarily because most of the western teams participating in this year´s TI would also be training in this region prior to the tournament," he added.

TI7 group stages start on Aug 2 at 9.30am PDT (local time 12.30am, Aug 3) with the main event happening from Aug 7 to Aug 12.
