KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- In the world of selling head scarves, Roszie Amir can proudly say she has an exclusive head-start over her contemporaries.

Thanks to the 42-year-old entrepreneur from Johor, head scarves can now be purchased through a vending machine, making it the world's first such machine.

Roszie, the founder and chief executive officer of Initiate Global Resources Sdn Bhd said for a start, the vending machine had been placed at The Mines Shopping Mall in Selangor.

She said public response had been encouraging and since the machine was placed at the mall in May, there have been brisk sales of her scarves.

"The Querenda Hijab On the Go (QHOTG) vending machine sells our Querenda brand of head scarves at a reasonable price of RM39 and above," she added when met by Bernama at the 2017 Village Entrepreneurship Carnival (KUD 2017) here today.

Roszie said the scarves could be easily purchased through the QHOTG machine using cash or Touch N Go cards and that consumers could follow tutorials on wearing the headscarves on the screen of the vending machine.

A total of 732 stalls run mainly by entrepreneurs have been set up for the four-day carnival held at the Putra World Trade Centre, beginning yesterday.
