Hollywood Actor John Trovolta To Do Shekhar Kapur's 'Paani'
TAMPA BAY, April 28 (Bernama) -- Golden Globe winning actor John Travolta is likely to act in Indian film director Shekhar Kapoor's most anticipated film 'Paani', Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.
"I have been offered a film that I am considering doing, I believe it's an honest Bollywood film and Shekhar Kapoor has asked me to be a part of it," Travolta told reporters at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards at Raymond James Stadium, Tampa Bay on Saturday.
"Even though the script does not have it (song) Shekhar said he will put a song to make it truly Bollywood. I am open to working in Hindi films if I like the story and my part," said the 60-year-old actor.
This year's four-day 15th IIFA awards -- the equivalent of Bollywood Oscars -- debuted in Florida on April 24 in the event's 15-year history to be held in the United States.
"I find Hindi films very original and full of life, it captures your attention unlike any other film and it has a universal theme. I am a big fan of Hindi films," Travolta said.
Travolta was honoured with "India's Most Popular All Time International Star" award at the ceremony.
"There are so many awards (in the west) like the Oscars whose charm have diminished, no one can see the difference between the Golden Globes or the Oscars. I think this (IIFA) is the big one and your country and people approve that," he said.
